Application algorithms of computer vision for оbject detection on the railway crossing

Development of innovative methods and hardware gives additional opportunities for the solution of various tasks. For example, innovations allow increasing safety in places of crossing highways and railroads by means of detection methods of objects in the required control zone. The big risk of emergencies in places as a railway crossing is caused by a high speed and the inertial movement of the train. In this connection, there is no possibility of timely braking of the train and prevention of collision with an obstacle. At the present time, the biggest percent of accident rate belongs to uncontrollable railway crossings. On such railway crossings completely are absent the blocking means or the warning technical tools. Controlled railway crossings are equipped with the blocking means for the automobiles. Also, they are equipped with the systems of video supervision. But the current systems of video supervision have no function of informing the driver of the train in an emergency. Therefore, to priorities belongs development of technical requirements for a hardware and software system. The automatic analysis of a dynamic situation in borders of a railway crossing, transfer to the driver of the approaching train of the required information belongs to priorities too. This work describes briefly main algorithms of computer vision which allow distinguishing any object on a railway crossing. The example of algorithmic modeling of detection of contours and allocation of a background on video has been considered in this work. Received results led to the conclusion about a necessary adaptation of modern computer vision algorithms for the solution of a detection problem of various objects with the required accuracy and in various working conditions.

Prediction of coefficient of hurst by means of methods of analytical forecasting

The technique of a prediction of coefficient of Hurst on the basis of various ways of a prediction is offered. For a choice of a method of a prediction errors of underestimation and revaluation are entered. It is shown that if not to consider fluctuation of value of coefficient of Hurst, the demanded parameters of a multiservice network, the allocated resources of a network used for calculation or will be insufficiently for high-quality service of the arriving traffic (that is QoS indicators will worsen), or resources of a network will be inefficiently used.

Teaching and learning microprocessor block signalling systems by practice

In microprocessor automatic block signalling (ABS) systems all the basic functionality is implemented in software. Current technique used by Russian educational organisations for training of engineering staff is solely based on functionality exploration of the microprocessor ABS equipment. We suggest that this approach is not sufficiently effective and could be improved. In our view, the improvement could be achieved by addition of extensive ABS algorithm development practice to the Railway Signalling Engineering curriculum. In this article, we present a prototype of a special microprocessor learning board, which supports development and debugging of various ABS algorithms. Along with the functional diagram, we give some technical details and present preliminary results of implementing and using this prototype.

Analysis of the reception of signals of the satellite radionavigation system by phaseed antenna grids in a complex of safety devices for locomotive

The structure of a complex of locomotive safety devices (CLSD) is analyzed. A comparison of technical characteristics and design features of ground stationary and transport antennas of the receiving equipment of the global satellite radio navigation system (SRNS) is made. On this basis, the importance of using SRNS in the CLSD structure is shown. It has also been shown that the decrease in locomotive positioning errors associated with the need to increase the signal-to-noise ratio at the input of the receiver can be achieved by the use of active phased array antennas (APARs). APAR are able to form narrowly directional patterns with the commutation of their maximum directions in accordance with the coordinates of the constellation's navigation satellites. Features of the formation of narrowly directional patterns and the possibility of controlling them in a linear and flat uniform APAR are considered. It is shown that the use of APAR in the ground-based equipment of the user is associated with the need: a) changing the approach to designing it for specific applications, - a flat surface of the required size should be provided in the design; b) the modernization of the algorithm for receiving and processing SRNS signals, which must take into account the finite switching time of the radiation patterns, the angle of the mask, the number and coordinate distribution of the navigation satellites in the working constellation.
