    Ways to improve the fuel and energy efficiency of special and shunting rolling stock during snow removal

    Introduced on the Russian Railways network monitoring system download the snow train has allowed to identify cases of export volume of the snow mass is much less possible when cleaning railway tracks from snow, which leads to the underutilization of capacity of the snow trains and shunting locomotives and irrational use of fuel and energy resources for operation of rolling stock. The purpose of the work is to consider the fuel and energy efficiency of snow-removal trains and shunting locomotives carrying out their movement and to determine ways to reduce the consumption of fuel and energy resources for the performance of works on cleaning the tracks from snow (in economic traffic). To achieve this goal, one of the structural divisions of JSC "Russian Railways" estimated the volume of snow removal by snow-removal trains, calculated the values of mechanical work performed by locomotives to move snow-removal equipment and fuel consumption by snow-removal trains and locomotives to perform work on clearing snow from the tracks. On the basis of the comparative analysis the conclusion is made on the available reserves of increase of fuel and energy performance of the rolling stock while clearing paths of snow and the technique allowing to estimate the total fuel consumption for snow removal snow plow trains and traction units (locomotives), and ways to improve the power efficiency of snow-removing trains and working with them traction means, such as the use of rolling stock with a rational value of mass and power depending on weather conditions.

    Simulation of rolling stock dynamics considering the elasticity of the wheelset as a prediction method for life and durability of its elements

    The wheelset and its components (the axle and the wheel) are subject to technical regulation. Therefore, in order to establish the assigned service life in accordance with TRCU 001/2011 (Technical Regulations of the Customs Union) and the examination frequency taking into account the durability parameters of rolling stock components in accordance with VNIIZhT RD 27.05.01-2017, it is necessary to assess the operational loading obtained from the running testing results, with respect to the part strength characteristics which are calculated during the bench tests. At present, to estimate the stress-strain state (SSS) in various machine-building structures, the strain measurement method is widely used, which allows to assess their performance with high accuracy. However, determining the SSS of a wheelset is not only a difficult task due to the constant rotation and movement of the wheelset relative to the bogie, but also expensive due to the employment of special non-contact measuring systems. Development of a dynamic model using modern software systems allows determination the stress-strain state of the wheelset elements by creating dynamic models as a system of perfectly rigid and elastic bodies connected by strength members and hinges. To confirm the adequacy of the parameters obtained in the simulation, verification is carried out according to the results of running dynamic strength tests. Thus, using the obtained model of the rolling stock and the track it is possible to make life and durability assessment as well as optimize the main rolling stock components. On the example of a freight gondola car model, a diagram of the dependence of dynamic stress amplitude distribution on the frequency of the occurrence in the wheel has been obtained, and considering the results of the earlier bench tests of standard specimens and full-scale wheels the period has been determined for durability from the moment of crack initiation in the wheel up to its fracture, as well as the assessment of the safety factor for durability is given.

    Influence of dry friction forces on stability movement of freight cars

    The article considers the dynamic processes of the oscillatory system «wagon - way», its mathematical model is formed and its features are established. The analysis of existing approaches to the consideration of the influence of dissipative forces on the stability of rolling stock is carried out, their shortcomings are revealed. When composing dynamic process equations, it is important to proceed from their exact expressions when considering kinetic and potential energy, i.e. to take into account the relationship between generalized coordinates, which will allow us to consider in detail the process of rolling stock oscillations. The zone of autoparametric resonance is found. It is established that dry friction forces do not interfere with parametric resonance. Dynamic equations are compiled taking into account the scattering forces arising in the contact points of the structural elements of the car. The influence of dry friction forces on the critical coefficient of parametric excitation is determined. The areas of dynamic instability of a car when moving along a railway track with different characteristics are determined. The features of the behavior of the system under the influence of dry friction forces are revealed. It is established that dry friction forces do not reduce the amplitude of bouncing and can lead to an increase in lateral pitching vibrations due to energy pumping.

    Analysis of the current and limited stressed-deformedstates of the rolling stock of railways withelastic-plastic conduct of material

    Annotaion. The relevance of carrying out research works on improving the regulatory and methodological base in the development of promising railroad rolling stock structures with the use of new structural materials with nonlinear properties during deformation (physical nonlinearity) is substantiated in the work. The possibility of using the finite element method (FEM) procedure for creating such constructions is considered. Dependence of stresses on deformations is approximated by a cubic parabola. This made it possible to obtain generalizations of the well-known relations and algorithms of the classical theory of FEM with a nonlinear relationship between stresses and deformations. The proposed technique was tested in the evaluation of the stress-strain state (SSS) of an aluminum gondola car under various standard loads according to the 1st design mode. The effect of physical nonlinearity on the SSS of a spiral beam of a freight gondola car of aluminum alloy AMg6 was estimated. The calculation of the stresses generated by the action of a longitudinal force with eccentricity shows that the stresses in the nonlinear approximation are 13% lower than the corresponding stress values obtained by calculation in the linear theory. The results obtained can be recommended for the development of pilot projects of new structures optimized for weight and strength characteristics.

    In article there are fluid flow mathematical models at the UV-sterilizer with concentric pipes installed in modernized water supply system of passenger car allowing to determine the velocity field of the rotational velocity component and assess the degree of attenuation depending on the chamber disinfection geometry, the inlet pressure in the water system, and fluid properties. There are exact solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations for a rotating fluid between fixed cylinder of infinite length and limited fictitious determined rotating lids provided Poiseuille axisymmetric flow. The decision explicitly contains the product of cylindrical Bessel functions and hyperbolic functions.

    Calculation of parameters and evaluation of the possibility of using chain compensated contact suspension with lever for a three-phase traction power supply system

    A variant of application of a contact compensated chain suspension with levers and lateral current collection for a three-phase traction power supply system (TSTE) is considered. Two different-phase contact suspensions are located on different sides of the track axis. The electric rolling stock must have two current collectors that press on the contact wire from the track axis in opposite directions. The description of the design of the contact suspension as a whole and the main components, in particular, the fastening of the rods, which makes it possible to provide a vertical zigzag and limit the transverse movement of the contact wire, is made. At points at the supports, the levers are connected to the consoles and have a knot to create angular rigidity. In addition, the rotation of these levers is limited towards the axis of the path and in the opposite direction. This prevents the possibility of lashing of different-phase contact wires. In accordance with this design, a mathematical model of this contact suspension was developed based on the finite element method, which provides calculation in statics and dynamics, taking into account the current collector. To describe the pantograph, a common three-mass model is used. Based on the analysis of the results obtained using this model, the influence of the design parameters of the suspension, cross wind and the speed of the pantograph movement on the quality of the current collection is determined, the limits of applicability of the suspension under consideration, depending on the value of these parameters, are established. It has been determined that, in contrast to a conventional contact suspension with a vertical current collection, for suspensions with a lateral current collection, a side wind has a significant effect on the quality of the current collection. It is the wind speed that is the main factor limiting the possibility of using a suspension with lateral current collection.

    Ways to reduce a heat loss viscous oil cargo during railway transportation

    Solidifying transportation of goods by rail, namely, tank wagons is accompanied a number of difficulties. These include: lowering the temperature of the transported oil, accompanied by the growth of its viscosity, the inability to quickly discharge, change in performance of transported oil products, an increase in idle tank cars. The analysis of the cooling rate of the goods transported, depending on the size and thickness of the insulating layer. Introduced formulas show that the presence of the heat-insulating sheath is cylindrical vessel radius deviation from the optimum value. When this thermal insulation reduces considerably the heat transfer coefficient in the surrounding area and to accelerate the discharge process.

    Expansion of the adjustment range of the air distributor № 483

    Currently, in the brake system of operated cars, there is a problem of lack of brake pressure on the wheel, which is necessary for the movement of the train at a set speed in accordance with the regulatory documentation. This is due to the tendency to increase the mass of trains and the maximum load of cars with a constant tare weight, which requires an extended range of pressure control in the brake cylinder by an air distributor or auto mode, depending on the load of the car. To solve this problem, calculations were made of the braking coefficient of cars equipped with air distributors № 483, which showed that the freight car was not equipped with brakes to run as part of a train at a set speed. In the course of engineering studies, it turned out that increasing the spring rate of loaded and medium modes can increase the adjusting range of the air distributor and partially solve the problem of lack of brake pressure. Thus, it is proposed to recalculate the stiffness of the adjusting spring. Calculations of the rigidity of regular and proposed springs were made. The braking coefficient has been recalculated, taking into account the increased spring constant. As a result, this coefficient has increased, which makes it possible to remove speed limits. The proposed method for upgrading the air distributor can be carried out on all types of repairs, which facilitates the implementation process.

    Feasibility study on application smesevs of types of fuel in diesel diesels

    The main direction of decrease in operational costs on draft of trains is reduction of expenses by fuel and energy resources, decrease in repair expenses at the expense of increase of indicators of operational reliability of power installations of a diesel rolling stock. It is obvious that the solution of these problems, now when operational profitability of diesels and their reliability are on a limit for the developed service conditions and production of diesel locomotives, it is possible at the expense of application of alternative types of the fuel which use will allow to raise both reliability of a diesel rolling stock, and its profitability under operating conditions. One of such alternative fuels can, is either natural gas, or household oil gas, that is a butane and propane mix in various ratios. In the present article on the basis of mathematical models possible ecological and economic efficiency of use of мix types of fuel on the example of the diesel 2A - 5D49 is shown.

    Development of technical solutions for the system life support of passenger cars

    The article considers technical solutions to improve the quality of life support system in long-distance passenger trains (PVPDS), in particular in the water supply and ventilation systems, which ensure safe and comfortable passenger travel conditions. The quality of water in the coach is determined by the conditions of initial water filling at the intermediate stations, which can be adversely affected by the sanitary condition of the storage tank. Currently filters are installed in the ventilation system, efficiency of which is questionable in pandemic conditions. Scientific works and elaborations of native and foreign scientists, up-to-date concepts of organizing comfortable conditions in the PVPDS, as well as methodical and normative-reference materials on the given theme were used when writing the article. The effectiveness of the proposed method was confirmed in the course of experimental research, the results of which were used in the implementation of the investment project "Clean Water" of JSC "Russian Railways". Technical solutions have been proposed to improve the quality of life support systems using ozonization technology. Their realization will allow the life support system to operate in the water purification and disinfection mode and sterilization the air environment in the PVPDS. The condition for the efficient use is the availability of compressed air for the ejector operation in the mode of supplying the ozone-air mixture required for water and air cleaning and disinfection in the car. Ozonization is performed separately in the automatic mode. The ozone method for solving the problems of life support in coach cars is a perspective direction consider its generality and, therefore, ability of using it on the infrastructure objects for disinfection and sterilization of premises, reserved volumes and production capacities.

    Hydraulic calculation of the modernized system water in the passenger car of railway transport

    In the article there is the method of calculating the loss of water pressure in the water system of passenger cars, equipped with a cleaning system as a series of two filters installed and the flow of ultraviolet sterilizer screw design. There is the results of calculation of losses in the various water systems of cars with the maximum and minimum charging time and the water pressure in the water system station. The rational geometric parameters of the decontamination chamber flow ultraviolet sterilizer of the conditions to ensure complete filling of the tank car parking in the minimum time with minimum pressure of the water supply system of the station. The value of head loss does not exceed the nameplate values typical designs. The geometry of the sterilizer allows you to integrate the device into the car. Its design values are taken to develop the prototype of a UV sterilizer successfully tested. To be able to determine the loss of water pressure chamber decontamination sterilizer screw coil design is presented with a rectangular cross section, «wound» on the cylinder. Local loss of one turn calculated using the reference formula proposed by G.N. Abramovich.
