Analysis of power losses in the main equipment static varcompensators taking into account the non-sinusoidalvoltages and ways of its reduction

With the purpose of providing capacity on the West-Siberian railway, in recent times, adjustable reactive power compensation devices have been introduced. The schematic construction and parameters of such devices on the market are significantly different. In connection with this, it is necessary to choose from the set of schemes the most effective, corresponding to specific technical and economic conditions. The article assesses the power losses in the main equipment of two devices from different manufacturers, namely static thyristor compensators of reactive power produced by "KER Holding" Kazan and "Aidis groups" Moscow, installed on the Alambay and Novaya Dubrava sectional posts of the West Siberian Iron roads. The power losses in the equipment are calculated taking into account additional losses from the influence of higher harmonic components. The analysis of the circuit design of both devices in terms of loss reduction is carried out. Dependences of power losses in their elements on the generated reactive power and the current of the thyristor-reactor group are constructed. Probabilistic functions of the distribution of the current of the titrator-reactor groups of devices are given at preset settings. The results of measurements of power consumption of devices for own needs are presented. The effect of reducing power losses in the traction network from switching devices with losses in their main equipment is compared. On the basis of the work done, the elements with the greatest losses are identified. The features of each device, affecting the power loss in the main equipment, are described. Conclusions are drawn about the effectiveness of the schemes under consideration. Methods for reducing power losses in basic equipment and consumption for energy consumption are proposed.

Contact network protection settings methodology dc in formed mode using short-cutter kzks-3,3

The purpose of the article is to consider the issue of calculating and selecting the settings for the operation of the short-circuit switch KZKS-3.3 when organizing the protection of a direct current contact network in emergency mode. The shorting circuit is measured by the voltage module. When the triggering conditions are met, it is the voltage module that collects the circuit to turn on the switching device of the short circuit. The important question is to choose the optimal installation location of the short-circuit switches and the voltage trip settings. The initial information necessary for the calculation of the settings is determined. The calculation procedure and equivalent circuits for the most common power supply circuits and sectioning of the contact network are given. For current protection of high-speed circuit-breaker feeders, contact formulas are given for determining the sensitivity zones. To select the optimal installation location of the short-circuit and select the voltage pick-up setting from the allowable range, a potential diagram of the contact network section is constructed. The analysis based on the potential diagram allows us to conclude that the organization of protection of the contact network in emergency mode using short circuits is effective.

The protection of the contact network of a direct currentat forced modes

The article considers the issue of providing protection for the contact network when removing 3.3 kV traction substations from the Nazivoye direction of the Omsk power supply distance of the West Siberian Railway. When the 3.3 kV switchgear is brought out to repair, the protection zone for connection of the contact network of adjacent traction power supply system objects (traction substations, sectionalizing stations, parallel connection points) increases. To ensure the protection of the DC contact network, lowered settings for the operation of high-speed circuit breakers are introduced, which inevitably limit the capacity of the section for the passage of freight trains. Considered the existing order of withdrawal of equipment for repair with the inclusion of a traction substation post section. The limitations of skipping freight trains during the implementation of the existing scheme are estimated. Short circuit currents are also calculated and the settings for the protection of high-speed circuit breakers are selected when the sectioning station is switched off and the sectional disconnectors of the station are switched on. It was found that the condition for selecting the protection settings is not fulfilled when detaching from the minimum value of the short-circuit current. To reduce the limitations, a prototype of a short-circuit contactor of a direct current 3.3 kV grid has been developed. The use of a short-circuit-breaker allowed the protection of the contact network, for the time of the withdrawal of the switchgear equipment for repair, without transferring to lower settings for the operation of circuit breakers. Also in the article are given the technical characteristics and features of the proposed device design. The results of a test of a short-circuit of a 3.3 kV direct current contact network in the Dragunskaya-Novokievskaya-Lubinskaya section are presented. The main directions for further work are determined.

Teaching and learning microprocessor block signalling systems by practice

In microprocessor automatic block signalling (ABS) systems all the basic functionality is implemented in software. Current technique used by Russian educational organisations for training of engineering staff is solely based on functionality exploration of the microprocessor ABS equipment. We suggest that this approach is not sufficiently effective and could be improved. In our view, the improvement could be achieved by addition of extensive ABS algorithm development practice to the Railway Signalling Engineering curriculum. In this article, we present a prototype of a special microprocessor learning board, which supports development and debugging of various ABS algorithms. Along with the functional diagram, we give some technical details and present preliminary results of implementing and using this prototype.

Evaluation of electrical ground for rail traction network devices in the application insulating materials at major railway repairs

Recently, during overhaul of the railway track using modern materials such as geotextiles and penoplex. In turn, they make significant changes to the structure of the ballast, t. To. Are almost insulators. OSTU experimentally it has been ascertained that the contact resistance in the case of using a new type of cloth can be raised to 45 - 150 Om*km. Obviously, this leads to a significant increase in the capacity of the rail relative to a distant ground and can cause injury to personnel operating the traction members network. To determine the capacity of the rail at any point area must take into account the redistribution of power in the elements of the rail network, ie. E. In the rail and the transition resistance «rail - the land». The rail network is characterized by longitudinal rails Zp kilometricheskim resistance, transition resistance «rail - land» rp-s, and the characteristic impedance ZB kilometricheskim spreading factor γ rail network. Analysis of the results lead to the following conclusions: 1) contact resistance «rail-to-earth» has a significant impact on the value of the potentials arising on the elements of reverse current flow circuit; 2) the growth of the resistance «rail-to-earth», associated with seasonal fluctuations in soil resistivity, as well as in recent times, with the capital reconstruction of the roadbed, resulting in a significantly longer (up to several tens of kilometers) area, for which the potential can reach hazardous the value of human life; 3) in the circuit mode on a rail (m. E. When a metal short circuit) almost always rail network will occur potentials exceeding admissible values for several kilometers in both directions from the point of fault, which leads to removal of the dangerous potential at all metal construction connected with the rail and therefore requires a review of the principles of grounding structures.

A mathematical model of a track circuit for data set generationin machine classification applications

The quality of a track circuit monitoring system is defined to the great extent by its ability to automatically analyse the acquired data, i. e. identify the state of a track circuit. Machine learning techniques can be applied to implement this functionality. Designing a machine learning algorithm requires a learning data set from the subject domain. In this article we discuss a basic principle of track circuit mathematical model design that could be used to generate such data set. We also apply this principle and a combination of some existing methods to design and demonstrate a mathematical model of the 25 Hz AC track circuit.
